DNA Matches Clayton Man With Cinnaminson Burglary

A Clayton man has been charged in connection with an August burglary in Cinnaminson, police announced Wednesday morning.

Thomas O. Tanner III, 23, was charged with burglary and theft in the Aug. 5, 2013 burglary of a residence on Union Landing Road.

The burglary was reported just before 4:30 on Aug. 5 when a resident reported that someone had broken into her house and stolen several items. Police collected DNA samples from the scene.

On Dec. 9, data collected seemed to indicate the DNA matched that of Tanner, who was already in custody at the Albert C. Wagner Correctional Youth Facility in Bordentown on an unrelated charge. Cinnaminson Police obtained a warrant to collect a DNA sample from Tanner.

On March 19, the match was confirmed and on March 25, Tanner was charged.

Bail was set at $50,000. Tanner remains in custody pending court.
