Driver With Suspended License Also Had Cocaine, Police Say

Evesham Township Police made the arrest Friday.

A West Deptford man who was carrying drugs was arrested after being stopped in Marlton Friday, Evesham Township Police said.

Robert Basmajian, 40, was stopped around 8:30 a.m. in the township's data-driven enforcement zone around Routes 70 and 73, after officers determined he was driving with a suspended license, police said.

Basmajian had cocaine and a hypodermic needle on him when officers searched him following the stop, police said, and he was charged with third-degree possession of cocaine and a disorderly persons charge of possession of a hypodermic needle.

He was released on his own recognizance.
