Drop Unwanted Prescription Drugs at Township Hall Saturday

West Deptford police are part of Operation Take Back, a move to collect unwanted and unneeded prescription drugs.

and police departments throughout the county, including the Sheriff’s Office, will collect unwanted prescription and over-the-counter drugs Saturday, part of a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)-sponsored nationwide effort to cut down on the potential for .

Collection boxes will be in place at the from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., where residents can, freely and anonymously, drop off unwanted or expired medication, no questions asked, as part of Operation Take Back New Jersey.

Labels on medication bottles can be peeled off, inked out, or drugs can be dropped off in plastic bags. The only thing not being accepted will be syringes.

Other boxes will be set up at police departments throughout the county, as well as at the county store in the Deptford Mall.
