Execution of Search Warrant Leads to Marijuana Charges for Two Men

West Deptford residents Tyler N. Wolf-Toth and Matthew M. Lawrence are charged with possession of marijuana during a search warrant execution on Dec. 27.

Two individuals are charged with possession of marijuana during the execution of a search warrant, following a monthlong investigation.

According to West Deptford Police Chief Criag Mangano, members of the West Deptford police department executed a search warrant at approximately 4 p.m. on Dec. 27 at a residence located on the 1600 block of Crown Point Road.

West Deptford residents—Tyler N. Wolf-Toth, 19, and Matthew M. Lawrence, 20—were both charged with drug related offenses. Both were present as the search warrant was executed.

Wolf-Toth was the target of a monthlong investigation conducted by West Deptford Inv. Jason Sherman, which served as the basis for the search warrant.

Wolf-Toth was found to be in possession of more than 50 grams of marijuana, police said. He was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, distribution of marijuana over one ounce, distribution of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school zone, distribution of marijuana within 500 feet of a park and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wolf-Toth was charged on summons and released pending grand jury action.

Lawrence was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams—a disorderly persons offense. He was released pending a court date.

Here follows an extract from "Notes on Democracy" by Henry Louis Mencken, written in 1926, during alcohol prohibition (1919-1933): The more obvious the failure becomes, the more shamelessly they exhibit their genuine motives. In plain words, what moves them is the psychological aberration called sadism. They lust to inflict inconvenience, discomfort, and, whenever possible, disgrace upon the persons they hate — which is to say, upon everyone who is free from their barbarous theological superstitions, and is having a better time in the world than they are. They cannot stop the use of alcohol, nor even appreciably diminish it, but they can badger and annoy everyone who seeks to use it decently, and they can fill the jails with men taken for purely artificial offences, and they can get satisfaction thereby for the Puritan yearning to browbeat and injure, to torture and terrorize, to punish and humiliate all who show any sign of being happy. And all this they can do with a safe line of policemen and judges in front of them; always they can do it without personal risk.

Whether or not this is a reason to charge &/or arrest them, the reason for their search warrant was. Speaking of ranch this wasn't the boys first time around that rodeo. They're no strangers to the law. Please get serious. My guess is this is just the lovely life these young boys will lead & will have always. That's unless they clean themselves up & lead productive lives.

I am grateful for weed. In NJ we still need folks to pump gas; and by-god somebody's gotta do it!!! We still need guys to retrieve the golf balls at the driving range in September (after the kids go back to college). You see, long term use of weed provides us with those people. Let's be thankful for weed.

@ Walter Frockmorton... Not to mention the last 3 Presidents of the United States. You are right, let's be thankful for weed.

@kristi my guess is your probably dont know either one of them and want to pass judgement. Just because people use weed doesnt mean you cant live a productive life. I know both of them, so you should stop acting like your a saint because kids got caught with some weed.
