The original charges stem from a Feb. 23 arrest. Security at Macy’s in the Deptford Mall took custody of Prout after they suspected him of shoplifting. While officers were searching Prout, they reportedly found eight bags of suspected heroin.

A Gloucester County grand jury indicted Prout on June 5 of third-degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance and fourth-degree shoplifting.
