Glassboro Man Pleads Guilty to Child Porn Possession, Distribution

George Mander will spend more than a decade behind bars as part of his plea.

A Glassboro man faces more than a decade in state prison after pleading guilty Monday to possession and distribution of thousands of images of child pornography.

George R. Mander, 53, of Morris Terrace, will be hit with the maximum sentence of 10 years for second-degree child pornography distribution and 18 months for third-degree possession of the images; both are forms of the crime of child endangerment. His sentences would be served consecutively.

Mander, a supervisor for a pharmaceutical products distributor, was arrested back in April 2009 on the charges, and an an investigation of Mander's laptop and other digital media by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s High-Tech Crimes unit turned up thousands of images of prepubescent children engaged in sex acts.

The pleas and penalties were negotiated by Assistant Gloucester County Prosecutor Joseph Brook, and Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson scheduled sentencing for Dec. 2.
