Fugitives on Gloucester County's Most Wanted List Captured

Natascha Smith and Michael Walls are currently in jail following their apprehension in unrelated cases.

Bagging seven fugitives in just the last three weeks, the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department announced the apprehension of No. 3 and 4 on Sheriff Carmel Morina's most wanted list.

Natascha Smith is being held in county jail for court proceedings, while Michael Walls is awaiting extradition and also is in jail.

Arrested on Feb. 21, Smith had been wanted since June 3, 2011, after failing to appear in court and was listed as No. 3 on the sheriff’s most wanted list. Smith was scheduled to appear before Judge Walter Marshall Jr. for a hearing on the violation of her probation. She was arrested in Atlantic City, where she was working for a property management company.

Smith previously pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by deception in 2009 and was sentenced to three years probation, according to state records.

Currently awaiting court proceedings, Smith was held in the Gloucester County Jail; she has several outstanding warrants from different agencies.

No. 4 on the sheriff’s most wanted list—Walls was arrested on Feb. 7, 2012, by the Perry County, PA, sheriff’s deputies. The arrest was made following information given by members of the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit. 

Wall had been wanted since July 2, 2012, after failing to appear for a probation violation hearing. Walls was wanted on a warrant from the Gloucester County Superior Court and is currently awaiting extradition to New Jersey while detained in the Perry County Jail.

Walls had previously pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking and was sentenced to two years probation in 2010. He was sentenced in January 2012 to 180 days in county and three years probation for shoplifting, according to state records. 

Seventy-one fugitives have been apprehended from Sheriff’s 10 Most Wanted List since it began in January 2010.
