Gloucester County Fugitive Sweep Nets 21 Arrests

In five hours, authorities nabbed a number of wanted persons last week, including 20-year-old Paulsboro native Jason Holland, who has been charged in a Glassboro robbery.

A coordinated, overnight fugitive sweep on March 14 brought in 21 wanted persons in a five-hour timeframe, without incident, injury or pursuit, according to a report from the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office:

Suspects included some wanted on municipal court warrants and others for whom Superior Court bench warrants had been issued. Some were collateral arrests of persons who did not have outstanding warrants.

Arrest teams focused on individuals who were habitual offenders, gang members and those wanted for violent crimes. The sweep also succeeded as an intelligence-gathering operation to further ongoing investigations in northeastern Gloucester County.

Among the most noteworthy arrests was the capture of Jason Holland, 20, of Paulsboro. Holland was charged in the March 4 beating and robbery of a Glassboro resident, and is being held in the Gloucester County correctional facility in default of $25,000 bail.

About 40 officers from the prosecutor’s office, the Deptford, Woodbury and Westville police departments and the Gloucester County Department of Corrections coordinated the dragnet with U.S. marshals and N.J. state police K-9 units.
