No Reduced Bail for Man Charged in Williamstown Child Sex Assualt
Bail set at $200,000 for William S. Prell, charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Officials have set the bail for William S. Prell at $200,000 after his hearing in Superior Court Friday. Prell, 65, was charged with sexually assaulting two girls, both under the age of 13. The assaults occurred in Williamstown earlier this year.
Attorney Richard O'Brien, Prell's lawyer, asked for a bail reduction, arguing that Prell was a lifetime Gloucester County resident with no past criminal record. He also informed the court that Prell suffers from depression, that he cooperated with the investigation, and that he admitted to the offenses.
"He feels very sorry for what he did," O'Brien said.
