Lost and Found: The Case of the Burglary That Wasn't

One lucky West Deptford resident had a $2,150 reversal of fortune in a matter of hours.

Sometimes the cases with the best outcome are the ones that solve themselves.

On May 20, West Deptford police received a report from a Warren Avenue resident that his locked vehicle had been burglarized, and that approximately $2,150 in cash, along with other personal items, had been stolen in the act.

Shortly thereafter, however, said West Deptford Chief Samuel DeSimone, the department was able to clear the case.

The resident, it turns out, discovered his wallet had fallen under the passenger seat of the car.

"He found every penny," DeSimone said.
