Police Seek Help ID'ing Body, Release Wrist Tattoo Photo

The body pulled from Woodbury Creek Friday afternoon is of a 35- to 45-year-old and shows no signs of foul play, according to New Jersey State Police.

State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the body of a man pulled from Woodbury Creek in West Deptford Friday afternoon.

The deceased is described as a white male, estimated to be 35 to 45 years old. He was 5-foot-10 and weighed about 170 pounds. State Police said he has dark eyes and a tattoo on his inner wrist. The tattoo shows a black symbol surrounded by seven blue stars. 

There were no signs of foul play, said Sgt. Brian Polite, and State Police continue to investigate how the man entered the waterway, the cause of death and his identity.

After a Woodbury Creek surveyor found the body Friday afternoon, police pulled it from the water and spent hours combing the creek banks for evidence.
