Report: Twins Threw Gun From Car in West Deptford After Hitting Man in Paulsboro

Robert and Jessica Springer are accused of killing a Gibbstown man by hitting him with a car early Sunday morning.

Twins from Sewell accused of hitting a man with their car in Paulsboro allegedly threw a handgun from their car after running him over, the Courier Post reports.

Robert Springer and his twin sister Jessica, both 25, allegedly threw the handgun out of the window of their car onto I-295 near exit 21 in West Deptford, according to the report.

They allegedly pointed the gun at a woman at the scene of the hit-and-run, according to the report.

The twins stand accused of murdering Eddie Lee Warthen, 30, of Gibbstown by running him over with a Chevy Malibu in Paulsboro around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Warthen was transported to Cooper Medical Center in Camden where he was pronounced dead at 7:30 a.m. An autopsy determined his death was the result of a traumatic injury.

Both the gun and the car have been recovered.

Robert Springer is charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon  (a handgun), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution.

Jessica Springer is charged with tampering with evidence and hindering.

Robert and Jessica Springer live together in Sewell. Robert Springer is unemployed and Jessica Springer works as a dancer at bachelor parties. The crime may be linked to Jessica Springer's occupation, according to the report.
