Thirza Sweeten Killed in Paulsboro, First County Murder in 2012

The 79-year-old was found dead in her home Monday night.

A Paulsboro woman's death is being called a murder, the first in Gloucester County this year, after her body was found by relatives Monday evening.

Thirza Sweeten, 79, who lived alone in her home on South Delaware Avenue, had multiple injuries, police said, when her daughter found her body just after 6 p.m.

Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office (GCPO) spokesman Bernie Weisenfeld said there's no suspect in custody, and Paulsboro police and the GCPO are continuing to investigate the crime.
