Unlocked Car Buglaries Top West Deptford Crimelog

The following information was provided by the West Deptford police department.

–A Nokia cellphone was stolen from a car parked in a driveway on Peacock Street on Aug. 16. While the driver told police the car was locked at the time, there was no evidence of forced entry or damage to the car.

–Would-be thieves scattered the contents of the glove box after entering an unlocked car on Blue Jay Street on Aug. 16, but nothing appeared to be missing.

–Thieves grabbed a TomTom GPS and a 6-inch folding buck knife from an unlocked car on Oak Street on Aug. 17, but left a wallet with credit cards in the car.

–Would-be thieves damaged a shed door, leaving pry marks and dents, in the back yard of a home on Columbia Boulevard on Aug. 19, but were unable to enter the shed or take anything.

–A wallet with a driver's license, car registration, insurance card and a debit card was stolen from a handbag left on the front seat of an unlocked car on Center Street on Aug. 19.

–A Sprint cellphone and a Sprint Bluetooth car charger were stolen from an unlocked car on Hessian Run Court on Aug. 21. A briefcase that was also in the car had been rummaged through, but nothing was missing, nor was the briefcase taken.
