Gas Station Gunman, Accomplice on the Loose

Two men stole an unspecified amount of cash from the Lukoil gas station during an armed robbery on Wednesday morning.

West Deptford Police are searching for two suspects who robbed the Lukoil gas station at gunpoint on Wednesday morning, holding up the attendant and fleeing with cash.

The suspects, two men, pulled up to the gas station at Red Bank Avenue and Crown Point Road just before 9:20 a.m. The driver initiated a conversation with the gas station attendant. While still seated in the car, the passenger then pulled out a black handgun and pointed it at the attendant, demanding that he turn over all of his money.

The employee handed over an unspecified amount of cash to the suspects, who drove off, traveling north on Crown Point Road toward West Deptford High School. They fled in what is believed to be a silver, two-door Dodge Stratus.

Police Chief Craig Mangano said that there's a possibility that today's robbery could be related to a series of other armed robberies at gas stations in South Jersey, though at this point he could not confirm if there is a definite connection.

West Deptford High School sits across the street from Lukoil, but the school was not placed on lockdown this morning.

The police department's detective division has taken over the investigation and is looking for any tips that may lead to the arrest of these suspects. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call West Deptford Police at 856-845-4004.
