West Deptford Police Charge Men With CDS, Gun Possession

James Worthy and Richard Willis were charged after police found 32 bags of crack/cocaine, 13 bags of heroin, under 50 grams of marijuana and .22 caliber handgun in a car Worthy was driving.

A Philadelphia man was charged with multiple counts of weapons and CDS possession charges after West Deptford Police found 32 bags of crack/cocaine, 13 bags of heroin, under 50 grams of marijuana and .22 caliber handgun in a car he was driving early Thursday morning.

Jerome Worthy, 31, was charged with possession of a handgun, certain persons not to possess firearms, possession of a weapon during a CDS crime, possession of crack/cocaine, possession of crack/cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of CDS paraphernalia and failure to surrender CDS to law enforcement.

Richard B. Willis, 22, of Glassboro, was in the car with Worthy and was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and hindering apprehension.

Police stopped the white 1993 Saturn Worthy was driving around 4:05 Thursday morning for failure to maintain lane. Police found the items previously listed following a consent search.

Worthy was lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 full cash bail.

Willis was issued summonses and released pending court.
