West Deptford Police Investigating Battery Thefts at Miller Leasing

The transportation company has suffered truck battery thefts three times in the past three months.

Police are investigating the theft of $1,500 in truck batteries from a West Deptford transportation company

Eighteen 12-volt Interstate and Alliance vehicle batteries were stolen from within trucks parked in the lot of Miller Leasing Company in Thorofare. Each is valued at $80. 

Police say the service manager at the company reported that sometime between 11 p.m. December 9 and 4 a.m. December 10, someone had removed the batteries from the trucks. Each vehicle contains three batteries.

The same business had suffered two prior incidents of battery theft from its trucks, police said; on October 31 and November 27. 

Investigators consulted with staff at various salvage yards, including Matteo Iron and Metal, Camden Iron and Metal, and Gloucester Iron and Metal. So far they have no leads.
