West Deptford Police Investigating Four Weekend Burglaries

Police said burglars hit three townhomes on Buckingham Road and another home on Lentz Road between Friday and Sunday.

Burglars went on a tear in West Deptford over the weekend, stealing jewelry and cash from four homes off Kings Highway Friday and Saturday, West Deptford police said.

Most of the burglaries happened in the Grande at Kings Woods townhomes along Buckingham Drive, where burglars hit three separate homes Friday night into Saturday, police said.

The biggest of those three happened between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight Saturday. Police said burglars cut a rear window screen and forced their way in, stealing roughly $6,000 worth of jewelry, change and prescription drugs.

The burglars also broke into another home on Buckingham some time between 5:30 a.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday, but police said the only things stolen from that home were three nightlights.

A third burglary on Buckingham, which police said happened between 7 p.m. Friday and 8 p.m. Sunday, was unsuccessful. Burglars pried open a window and left a screen on the ground, but police said the home wasn’t entered.

A fourth burglary happened nearby, on Lentz Road in the Village Grande, some time between 5:30 p.m. and 9:55 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Burglars once again cut a screen and pried open a side window in that incident, police said, and stole roughly $10,000 worth of jewelry and a change jar.

All four incidents are still under investigation, and anyone with information or who might have seen someone on Buckingham or Lentz in those time frames is asked to contact Inv. Richard Henry at 856-853-4599 x162.
