West Deptford Police Investigating Multiple Burglaries

One West Deptford man has been arrested in connection with a number of offenses.

West Deptford Police have battled a rash of burglaries in the township, including to vehicles and homes, and have netted at least one arrest in connection with these incidents.

On October 13, township police arrested 22-year-old Joseph Richter of West Deptford in connection with the theft of $280 from an unlocked vehicle in the 300 block of Tilden Road, burglary and theft of a shed on the 600 block of Lancing Road, and multiple other offenses.

Richter was lodged in the Salem County Jail in lieu of bail.

Two homes suffered forced-entry burglaries this week as well, one October 16 on South Monmouth Court, in which jewelry and electronics were stolen, and one in the 500 block of Lawnton Avenue, in which jewelry was taken, on October 11.

Also on October 11, a Page Street resident reported the theft of a hot water heater valued at $100 from the rear yard of the home.

West Deptford police also reported this week a vehicle burglary on Frederick Court October 11, in which a black leather wallet was stolen.
