West Deptford Police Recover Bank Robbery Money in Brooklawn

Lt. Sean McKenna said detectives uncovered $3,641 beneath the exterior steps of a home in the borough.

West Deptford Police, who earlier this week announced the arrest of a suspect in last Friday's robbery of the Cornerstone Bank in the township, are continuing to tie up loose ends in the case.

On Thursday, the department reported having discovered more than half the $7,677 reported stolen from the bank at a Brooklawn home.

Police discovered $3,641 "mixed in with trash" beneath the exterior steps of of a residence in the borough, said Lt. Sean McKenna. That money was returned to the bank.

An additional $4,036 remains missing, he said.

McKenna also said that it is doubtful that the driver in the robbery will be charged in connection with the incident. Detectives have determined that the Nissan Pathfinder SUV that was reported at the scene belongs to a hack cabbie from Philadelphia.

McKenna credited Philadelphia detectives with tracking the vehicle tags to a neighborhood near Kensington and Allegheny Avenues, which eventually helped develop the case.

Christopher George Frisby, 32, whose last known address is in Woodbury, was arrested Tuesday, and faces a slew of charges, including: first-degree armed robbery, third-degree theft of movable property, third-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and making terroristic threats.

Gloucester County Superior Court Judge Mary K. White issued a $250,000, full-cash blanket bail for the charges, which he was unable to post.

Frisby is currently lodged in the Salem County Correctional Facility.
