Matthew Shields pleaded guilty to manslaughter in March.

A Westville man has been sentenced to four years in state prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in connection with the death of a Bellmawr man at a Jimmy Buffet concert in 2012.

Matthew Shields, 22, must serve 85 percent of his four-year sentence before becoming eligible for parole, Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo announced Friday evening.

Shields pleaded guilty in March to manslaughter in the death of Ryan Cole, 20, of Bellmawr, on Aug. 28, 2012.

Shields admitted to punching Cole in the back of the head during a tailgate party in the parking lot at the Susquehanna Center in Camden.

Cole hit his head on the pavement when he fell. He died on Aug. 31, 2012.
