Williamstown Man Arrested in PA, Fugitive Accused of Sex Crimes

Thomas J. Giacobbe was arrested in Pennsylvania Friday.

A Williamstown man who was wanted on sexual assault and child endangerment charges and was on the run from police was caught in Pennsylvania Friday.

Thomas J. Giacobbe, 47, was caught at a relative’s home in Honey Brook, PA, a town midway between West Chester and Lancaster. Members of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s fugitive unit, with help from officers of the U.S. Marshal’s Service regional fugitive task force and Pennsylvania State Police, arrested him, and Giacobbe is now being held on a fugitive warrant in the Chester County Jail pending extradition.

An investigation by Monroe Township police led to the charges on June 5 against Giacobbe. Police said he sexually assaulted a single victim, a child between the ages of 13 and 16, on several occasions in 2012. Police also charged him with endangering the welfare of a child, saying he engaged in sexual intercourse with his victim.

Bail on the charges was set by Superior Court Judge M. Christine Allen-Jackson in Woodbury at $100,000.
