Woodbury 'Dancing Man' Arrested on Lewdness, Harassment Charges

One of Gloucester County's most colorful but controversial residents, a busking street performer known as "the Woodbury dancing man," has been arrested on harassment charges after allegedly propositioning a woman, licking her face, and following her to her car.

On November 4, James Robinson, 65, of West Deptford, allegedly approached a woman inside the Mantua Avenue Dunkin' Donuts and "said several things of a sexual nature to her that made her feel uncomfortable," said Woodbury Detective Sergeant Thomas Ryan.

"He actually attempted to touch her and licked her face," Ryan said. "She told him several times that she wasn’t interested, but then [Robinson] followed her out to her vehicle."

The victim was able to drive away, Ryan said, and she immediately reported the incident to police.

The incident was turned over to Woodbury Detective Kelli Marro, who signed complaints against Robinson for lewdness and harassment charges.
