2012 Primary Preview: Few Contested Races

Voters can go to the polls starting at 6 a.m.

Though it’s a presidential year and there are eight races on each side of the ballot, there are only five contested primaries in today’s election.

In all, for president, United States Senate and House of Representatives, county sheriff, county clerk, county surrogate, county freeholder and West Deptford committee.

On the Republican side, there are three contested races: Four candidates are vying for president, though Mitt Romney is the de facto nominee, four candidates are in the mix for the United States Senate and two candidates are up for sheriff.
