Democrats Surveying All of West Deptford in Campaign Effort

Denice DiCarlo and Hunter Kintzing are aiming to get input directly from local voters.

The West Deptford Democrats are upping the ante.

With Republicans Sam Cianfarini and Ray Chintall vowing to build their platform by taking on the greatest concerns of local Republicans, new Democratic candidates Denice DiCarlo and Hunter Kintzing have gone a step farther.

They’re sending out a mailed invitation to an online survey to the entire township, in an effort to get feedback directly from all voters.

“We think it is important to listen to our residents. It is their community, and their tax dollars, so the opinions of West Deptford residents must always be considered first,” DiCarlo said. “We thought the first step in our campaign should be one that reaches out to taxpayers and asks them what is important.”

The mailer will include a personal URL, where residents will be able to log on, fill out the survey and drop additional comments in a digital suggestion box. The invitation will also include a QR code, which will allow residents to complete the survey by scanning the code with a smartphone.

Kintzing called the township-wide effort the first of its kind in the state, and said it’s part of an effort to run a campaign that listens to voters.

“The survey can help us understand what matters to our residents and what changes need to be made to protect the quality of life in our neighborhoods,” he said.

The two Democrats said they’ll take the results of the survey and use them to get in closer contact with those who respond, in order to get more insight into local opinions and priorities.
