Find a Job with Gloucester County's One-Stop Career Shop

Get free job-seeking services at the Gloucester County store in the Deptford Mall.

Recently unemployed or need a little help getting back into the working world?

Starting Tuesday, Feb. 12 the Gloucester County Store in the Deptford Mall will house a representative from the Gloucester County One-Stop Career Center in Thorofare. Located next to Boscov’s on the mall’s upper level, the store’s representative will be available to talk from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. about specific services the One-Stop Career Center offers.

“The One-Stop is an important resource for those who are unemployed or underemployed and we want to make their services more accessible by offering hours in the Gloucester County Store,” says Gloucester County Freeholder Heather Simmons.“The One-Stop brings services of many different agencies together and anytime we can make services more convenient and helpful we increase the chances of our residents to gain quality employment.”

The One-Stop Career Center is provided through both the county and the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Offering free services to job seekers, students and community-based organizations, the center helps provide tools for success—ranging from information on continuing education to locating employment opportunities to resume counseling.  

Freeholder Director Robert Damminger adds that the center is staffed with professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills to help Gloucester County residents find employment and acquire the necessary skills in order to be competitive in the current job market.

Simmons also added that this center especially targets residents who are not only unemployed and underemployed, but also those receiving public assistance, those with disabilities and veterans.

In addition, the One-Stop Career Center also provides literacy labs to expand skills in math and English, as well as Career Beacon Workshops for those who are unemployed, underemployed, in the midst of a career change or looking to branch out.

Career Beacon Workshops include:

  • Orientation Workshop
  • Self-Management Skills
  • Labor Market Research
  • Job Search Techniques
  • Marketing Yourself / Resume Writing
  • Interviewing
  • Job Training

Residents are asked to call 856-384-3700 in order to schedule a workshop. The One-Stop Career Center is located at 215 Crown Point Rd. in Thorofare and open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Additional information is available online or by calling 856-251-6802.
