MLK Holiday, Snowfall Push Trash Pickup to Jan. 27

West Deptford officials also posted a leaf collection schedule for township residents.

West Deptford residents with a Monday trash pickup will have to wait a couple more days for their waste to be collected.

According to a memo posted on the township website on Wednesday, the pickup, which had been pushed back to January 22 in observance of Martin Luther King Day, was further delayed due to heavy snowfall.

For those wondering about leaf collection, the township also posted its regular neighborhood rotation in a separate document.

That order is also subject to change due to weather, equipment failure, or the volume of leaves required for pickup, the memo notes—all of which reportedly affected leaf collection in West Deptford this season, according to Mayor Ray Chintall.

According to the township website, leaves are collected from November 1 to December 31, and again in the month of April.
