Preview Thursday's West Deptford Committee Agenda

Business before the body includes more budget transfers, committee appointments, and a closed-door discussion about a police lieutenancy.

The West Deptford township committee will tackle budget transfers, leadership appointments, and entertain a closed-door discussion about police promotions at Thursday night's local government meeting.

The agenda before the body also includes a discussion on the appointment of an executive director for the township redevelopment agency, a position for which acting Township Administrator Brandon Umba was initially nominated at the January re-organization of the body.

Municipal redevelopment was a hot topic during the last local election season, and Mayor Ray Chintall has said unequivocally that whoever mans that post will be expected to generate new business for the township.

The body will also hear the first reading of a municipal ordinance fixing salaries for township officials, which, during the 2013 budget season, received no cost of living increase.
