Preview Thursday's West Deptford Committee Meeting Agenda

On the docket are a $78,000 well repair, a new curfew for Halloween and Mischief Night, and a look at the township's best practices mandated by the DLGS.

West Deptford elected officials will discuss a number of items at their Thursday meeting, including a $78,620 well repair job with A.C. Schultes, Inc. for water well number eight in the township.

There is also expected to be a review of the state-mandated best practices inventory for local finances, as mandated by the Division of Local Government Services.

According to the local finance notice, there are 50 questions on the document that must be answered, "12 of which are completely new," and include questions on "whether your municipality follows certain best practices with respect to its legal work" and "the need for municipalities to review their emergency management plans in light of Superstorm Sandy."

Being out of compliance with the state-defined best practices could cost West Deptford in state aid, theoretically, with a sliding-scale penalty of 1 to 5 percent depending upon the scoring.

Also on the agenda is a $181 tax refund for a disabled veteran, a township-wide curfew for Halloween and Mischief Night, and a proclamation honoring the scholarship winners of the 2013 Miss West Deptford pageant.
