Republicans Cianfarini and Chintall Triumph in Landside Primary

By a wide margin, Sam Cianfarini and Ray Chintall secured their place on the November ballot.

The favorites have triumphed.

Sam Cianfarini and Ray Chintall rode a tidal wave to a victory in Tuesday's Republican primary, according to initial unofficial results, defeating Matt Mahon and Loran Oglesby for a shot at a pair of West Deptford township committee seats in November.

"It's the message," Chintall said after the victory. "Our message was true and to the heart."

Far from a close contest, Chintall and Cianfarini won in a rout, crushing their opponents by a three-to-one margin. Turnout was massive–1,530 votes were cast on the Republican side–compared to last year, when there were just 391 votes cast in the Republican primary in West Deptford.

The Democratic ballot was set even before the polls opened this morning–Hunter Kintzing and Denice DiCarlo were unopposed for the nomination, and will face off against Chintall and Cianfarini in November.

A total of 918 votes were cast on the Democratic side, despite it being an uncontested primary.
