Republicans Finally Get Meeting with Auditors

Activists are trying to get the state to look into West Deptford's finances.

Though it was a late night of celebrations for Republicans Ray Chintall and Sam Cianfarini, they’ll be up early today, along with Joe Rando, to pile into Chintall’s black Volvo and head up Route 295 to Trenton.

There, they’ll meet with state auditors in the culmination of a promise Gov. Chris Christie made nearly four months ago at a town hall meeting in West Deptford.

It was there that Cianfarini got up and voiced his concerns about the township’s debt–pegged at $142 million between the general fund and water and sewer–to which Gov. Christie had only one thing to say.
