Township Purchases Three New Police Vehicles

Three new 2013 Dodge Chargers are expected to arrive at the West Deptford Police Department in the coming weeks.

West Deptford Police Department will add three new cars to its fleet soon after the township committee approved the vehicle purchases.

Township Administrator Eric Campo confirmed this week that the township bought three new 2013 Dodge Chargers for the police department. The vehicles should arrive by early 2013 at the latest.

The vehicles were publicly bid on by the township back on Nov. 28. The bid was awarded to Hertrich Fleet Services at a total cost of $76,607.16. Campo said that the payments will be made in two annual installments. The township will own the vehicles after the two-year lease is up.

“We have a lot of these vehicles running 24/7,” said Campo. “So it is very important for us to keep updating and adding newer vehicles to our current fleet.”
