West Deptford Committee Sets Special Meetings

The governing body will meet twice more before the end of the year.

A successor to former mayor Anna Docimo and a public presentation on the proposed solar project at RiverWinds are on the table for a special meeting of the West Deptford committee Wednesday night.

The 7 p.m. special meeting will see the four remaining committee members consider three candidates put forth by the Democratic executive committee, with the option of choosing one of them to fill the open seat.

If the current township committee can't settle on one candidate immediately, they have 30 days from Docimo's retirement–officially Dec. 8–to make a final call, according to state statute. Otherwise, the choice would go back to the Democratic executive committee.

On top of that, developer Ray Angelini, Inc. will detail its proposal for its power purchase agreement and solar canopy system that would cover all the parking lots around RiverWinds. The company gave a presentation earlier this month in closed session on the project, which for .

The township committee will also hold a year-end close-out meeting Dec. 29 at noon. The agenda for that meeting has yet to be determined.
