West Deptford Cuts Costs, Mailing on Township Calendar

Increased advertising and a move to drop mailing will save the township $12,000.

West Deptford’s township calendar won’t cost taxpayers a dime this year, thanks to increased advertising and a move to eliminate mailing the calendar out to residents, township officials said Thursday night.

Instead of mailing it out, the calendar will be available at various spots around town—RiverWinds Community Center, the township municipal building and the West Deptford Free Public Library.

There’s also the possibility of getting the calendar distributed at Shop Rite, as well, Mayor Ray Chintall said.

After the calendar and mailing cost about $12,000 last year, the township moved to find more sponsors and dropped mailing to reduce the cost to the point where it’s not only a zero cost at this point, but may actually bring in some extra revenue, Chintall said.

“Hopefully everyone understands the direction we’re going,” he said.
