West Deptford's School Aid Up, Municipal Aid Flat

will see an increase in state aid again this year, while state aid to the township is flat, according to information released by the state government Thursday.

West Deptford's municipal aid remains at $2,009,241, the same as it has been for the past two years, but school aid from the state jumped $259,405, a 2.3-percent increase over last year.

The bump in school aid is the second year in a row West Deptford has seen an increase, though this year's was only about two-thirds of the increase in state aid for 2011-2012.

It also still leaves the township's schools just under $1 million short of the aid the state delivered in 2009-2010, when West Deptford received $12,511,152.

South Harrison saw the largest percentage increase in Gloucester County this year, with an increase of 14.6 percent over last year.

But after a year where every district got an increase, this year was much more of a mixed bag for Gloucester County—Washington, Logan and Greenwich townships all lost state aid, anywhere from 1 to 7.2 percent.

Municipal aid, by contrast, was flat across all towns in the county. Monroe Township continues to be the top recipient of municipal aid in Gloucester County, getting $4,035,796.

West Deptford's school board has a , while the township government has yet to announce a public budget planning session, which typically takes place in March.
