West Deptford Zoning Board Gets New Leadership

Longtime board member Michael McManamy took over the chairmanship of the board.

’s zoning board got new leadership at its reorganization this week, with longtime member Michael McManamy unanimously elected as the new board chair Tuesday night.

McManamy, who has served as the vice-chair for the planning board, replaces former chair Joseph Jarrett at the top. The board’s other positions were unchanged; James Robinson Jr. returned as vice-chair and Charles Dahmer III returned as secretary.

The board also brought back solicitor John Alice, who was one of five attorneys to file a proposal for the position, and also stayed with engineer Stan Bitgood and planner Jay Petrongolo.

McManamy didn’t waste any time in making at least one change, switching how voting is handled during meetings and running it through the recording secretary.

“We’re going to change the structure up to more like the planning board,” he said. “It just makes it streamlined.”
