Sterling 13, Paulsboro 10
Paulsboro saw its hopes for a 2-0 start get dashed in the fourth quarter in a 13-10 loss at Sterling.
After taking a 10-7 lead at halftime on a 70-yard touchdown pass from Zack Funk to Derrick Burgess and a 38-yard Mike Maccarone field goal, Paulsboro had a chance to shut things down with a late goal-line stand.
But Sterling's Khalil Howard had other plans, punching it in from a yard out to give his team the victory.
