New Scoreboard Coming for Girls' Soccer and Lacrosse Field

A $2,000 donation by RK Chevrolet will help pay for the cost of the scoreboard.

West Deptford High School will install a new scoreboard for the girls' soccer and lacrosse field in time for the spring season, Superintendent Kevin Kitchenman confirmed at Monday's school board meeting.

A $2,000 donation from RK Chevrolet, a car dealer located in Vineland, will cover one-third of the scoreboard's cost. The school board approved the donation at its Nov. 26 meeting.

Winter weather will determine the timetable for the scoreboard construction. Kitchenman said the plan is to install the scoreboard sometime in March and to have it operational by the early spring, just in time for lacrosse season. However, the plan will be in flux based on how soon the ground thaws out after the winter to allow for underground digging and wiring to take place.
