WDHS Loses Member of Senior Class

West Deptford schools are mourning the loss of a member of the senior class.

Christopher Russell died Monday at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, around 7:45 p.m.

"A student's death is a very difficult thing to deal with," Superintendent Kevin Kitchenman said. "We're deeply saddened by the situation."

Kitchenman said the schools put their response in motion Monday, with school psychologists going to Cooper.

He said grief counseling and other resources would be available to students today as the district copes with the loss.

Contrary to some rumors, police and school officials said bullying was not involved in the student's death.
