West Deptford Boys' Basketball Falls to Delran in Tourney Opener

The Eagles hung in the first half, but couldn't keep up with the tournament hosts.

After staying with the host Delran Bears for the better part of the first half Monday, the boys' basketball ran into a wall named Derrick Mitchell.

The Eagles were tied at 30 late in the half, when Mitchell drained a shot from near midcourt to give the Bears the 33-30 lead as the two teams headed to the locker room.

After that, it was all Delran. The Bears (2-2) put the pedal to the floor in the second half, coming away with the 73-50 win over West Deptford (2-2) in the opening round of the Delran Holiday Tournament.
