West Deptford Duo Helps Olympic/Colonial to Carpenter Cup Win

Tony Urban and Tom Jakubowski played key roles in the team's 6-1 opening-round win.

Tony Urban and Tom Jakubowski’s seasons aren’t quite over yet.

The duo was selected for the Olympic/Colonial squad and helped the team score a 6-1 victory over Inter-AC/Independents in the first round of the Carpenter Cup Classic baseball tournament at Ashburn Field in FDR Park Monday morning.

Urban pitched two innings and was part of a six-pitcher staff that tossed a three-hitter. Olympic/Colonial advanced to face the winner of today’s game between Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia Public in Friday’s quarterfinals at Coca Cola Park in Allentown, PA.
