West Deptford Girls' Lacrosse Falls in Second Round to Allentown

The Eagles couldn't match the Redbirds' offensive firepower.

The good news is ’s girls’ lacrosse team held the state’s leading scorer to one of her lowest-scoring games of the season.

The bad news is that Allentown’s Alex Moore still scored five goals and dished out four assists, as the Eagles fell in the second round of the South Jersey, Group 2 playoffs Thursday, 15-5.

For West Deptford, Maddie Waschko (2 goals) and Jess Hill (3) provided the offensive effort, with Emily Whalin adding three assists.

It wasn’t enough to contain Allentown’s jet-fueled offense, however; the Redbirds leaped out to an 8-2 lead at the break and didn’t slow down much in the second half on the way to the win.
