West Deptford Sports Wrap: Baseball, Girls' Lax Win

Both teams got back on track after losses midweek.

After a pair of losses earlier in the week where the offense sputtered like an engine firing on two cylinders, the Eagles baseball team roared back Friday, scoring 11 unanswered runs in the first two innings on their way to an 11-1, mercy-rule win over Haddon Heights.

Tom Jakubowski provided the biggest spark, smashing a grand slam in the second, and Zach Moran added a three-run double in the same inning as piled up 12 hits on the day.

Ty Castellano notched the win for the Eagles, who won for just the second time so far this year.
