West Deptford Sports Wrap: Baseball Splits Twinbill, Boys’ Lax Rolls

The boys' lacrosse team got its first shutout of 2012, while it was all or nothing on offense for baseball.

It was a good afternoon for ’s baseball team.

The evening, well, left a bit to be desired.

The Eagles scored a 13-3, six-inning mercy-rule win over Willingboro in the first half of a day-night doubleheader Wednesday, scoring in the bottom of every inning.

The heavy lifting came from Chris Dellaquilla and lefties Tim Krott and Tom Jakubowski. All three had two-hit, two-RBI performances at the plate.

Paul Angert allowed just three hits in four innings on the mound.

In the nightcap, though, that offense was nowhere to be found.

Jakubowski notched a leadoff double, but ended up stranded at third, and no other Eagle would get a hit off Clearview ace Dave Young on the night in the 3-0 loss.

Boys’ lacrosse

The Eagles got their first shutout of the season, steamrolling Camden Catholic, 15-0. Zach Kaestner and Ryan Monaghan each scored hat tricks, and Mike Reardon added two goals and four assists in the win.
