West Deptford Wrestlers Escape Haddon Township to Keep Perfect Mark

The Eagles claimed victory with a final-bout pin to close the match Wednesday night and moved to 14-0 this season.

West Deptford’s Gerald Owens came to the mat at Haddon Township with the 220-pound bout set to be a dramatic, winner-take-all affair.

The drama lasted all of 15 seconds.

Owens wasted no time securing his pin, giving the Eagles the 35-30 win over the Hawks and keeping the team’s record unblemished through 14 matches.

While has had to stage comebacks lately, including and , the situation was reversed this time: The Eagles’ lightweights came out and posted the early lead, then had to watch as Haddon Township mounted a comeback of its own, before the Hawks ultimately came up short.

West Deptford got pins from Griffin Bonner, Tyler Kaminsky and Evan Zuzulock, in addition to Owens’ match-clincher.
