Wing-T Camp Marks Start of Busy Summer for WDHS Football

The academic year may be over at , but there's no rest for the football players.

With spring practices already in the bag, Eagles players headed out to the annual Wing-T Camp at the high school, slogging it out through three days in the heat and humidity to get ready for the fall, and the defense of their Group 2 title.

And there isn't much of a break before the annual seven-on-seven passing league starts, with play slated to open Thursday.

In 1969, I graduated WDHS and played football / track at the high school. I have followed the athletic programs over the years and I am extremely proud of the boys and girls especially the graduation rate. Looking back over the years, WDHS is the very KEYSTONE that has set my life to where it is today. Without this foundation I honestly do not know where I would be. After the start of my law enforcement career in 1971 I spent 17 years as a patrolman and finally retired at the United States Attorneys Office in Camden, NJ Eastern District in 2001. For this experience, I solely thank those individuals who helped me at this fine school and I will never forget them. Sincerely, Gale O. " Mickey " Travis Class of '69
