Sophomore Eagles Advance to Championship Game

The sophomores blew out Cumberland on Saturday to advance to the TCMFL championship game.

The West Deptford Sophomore Eagles continued to roll through the postseason last Saturday, dominating Cumberland by a score of 40-7 to advance to the championship game in their division.

The sophomores have now won 11 straight games since opening their season with a loss to Penns Grove in week 1. They have won big in most of their games this season. In their last five games played, the Eagles have outscored their opponents 183-25.

The freshmen Eagles weren't able to come up with the same result as their sophomore brethren on Sunday, falling in a tough game to top-seeded Whitman Park 24-12. Whitman Park, who advanced to play in the championship game against Kingsway in the freshman division, extended their unbeaten season to 12-0 with the win over West Deptford.

The sophomores will have a tough opponent to face in next week's championship game, as they will take on the Kingsway. The Dragons, like the Eagles, have lost just one game so far this season. West Deptford handed Kingsway that lone loss back in October, as they won a thrilling 31-26 game.

The sophomores will also get the pleasure of playing Saturday's championship game on a big stage. The West Deptford Athletic Association has arranged to play the game at West Deptford High School. Game time will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
