WD Lacrosse Signups Begin This Weekend

Have a budding LAX player in your house? Don't forget to sign up for the West Deptford Youth Lacrosse league's spring season.

Registration is at the RiverWinds Community Center on Friday, Nov. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 8 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

One of the largest youth lacrosse programs in the region, West Deptford accepts players from pre-K through eighth grade. Registration costs $50 per child for boys Pre-K through first grade and girls pre-K through second grade.

Boys in second through eighth grade and girls third through eighth grade play on West Deptford's travel teams, which participate in the South Jersey Youth Lacrosse League. The cost for a travel player is $180 for the first child, and $155 for each subsequent child. That cost includes both registration and the club fundraiser.

West Deptford's lacrosse program has produced some very successful teams over recent years. Last season, the seventh and eighth grade varsity girls' team finished its regular season with a perfect 9-0 record. Teams at various age levels have earned multiple South Jersey championships over the past five seasons.

West Deptford Youth Lacrosse is also looking for parent volunteers to help out with the teams in the spring.
