WD Midget Football Wins Three Weekend Games

West Deptford's freshman, sophomore and junior midget football teams all won games over Salem on Saturday, while the seniors fell short.

West Deptford midget football had a successful week 2 of the regular season, as three of their four teams were able to come away with victories over Salem at home on Saturday.

The freshman team led off the afternoon with a blowout victory of 46-21. Long touchdown runs were the theme of the day as West Deptford had three scores of 50 or more yards. Jamar Wallace had two rushing touchdowns, while Lawrence Howard and Joey Barquero each had a 50-yard touchdown of their own.

Defensively, West Deptford was able to force five Salem fumbles in the game. Trevor Lundfelt led the Eagles with six tackles.

In the other divisions, the sophomores and juniors each recorded shutouts. The sophomores won easily over Salem 33-0 while the juniors blanked them 20-0. The seniors were the only losing squad on Saturday, falling by the score of 18-6.
