West Deptford Football Team Remains Unbeaten With Win Over Collingswood

Joe Diaco rushed for four touchdowns to lead the West Deptford High School football team to a 34-7 win over Collingswood, according to nj.com.

Diaco put a touchdown on the board in each of the first two quarters, as the matchup between previously undefeated teams was tight at halftime. He scored on runs of 5 and 20 yards to give the Eagles a 13-0 halftime lead.

He scored twice in the third as West Deptford began to pull away from the Panthers. He rushed the ball in from 19 and 15 yards out, respectively.

Gerald Owens rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a 2-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Collingswood's lone score came in the third quarter, on a 10-yard run by John Deaner.

West Deptford improved to 4-0, and hosts Sterling on Friday, 7 p.m.

Collingswood fell to 3-1, and looks to rebound when it hosts Haddon Heights on Friday, 7 p.m.

Girls' tennis

Annalise Kipp gave No. 7 West Deptford its only win in a 4-1 loss to No. 2 Middle Township in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 2 playoffs, according to nj.com.

Kipp defeated Jen Ney, 6-2, 6-4. With the loss, West Deptford fell to 9-6 for the season.
